an american werewolf in italy

This is my very first outfit post since arriving in Italy. I've been much more preoccupied with the food and drinks. I was also in dire need of some salon treatment—my roots needed some serious lovin’ so I touched them up and in a moment of spontaneity I had a barber friend buzz the sides for me. I was inspired by the many Italian women I've seen rocking tomboyishly, yet chic close crops. I also got my nails done, which is quite a treat. It’s been while since I’ve had a proper manicure; I work with my hands a lot and they always end up chipping. I said a proverbial ‘fuck it’ this time though. Despite the occasional drizzle, the weather here in Italy is perfect Fall weather. In Houston, there isn’t much in the way of seasons, so it’s nice to be able to sport my favorite jacket and fur collar. Both are vintage pieces. I love the fur especially, because its so versatile and it adds a very commanding, slightly barbaric shape to everything I pair it with. It makes me feeling like a beast. The weather in Porcia in particular reminded me why I love Autumn: layers, leather, moto styles, and all black everything. My dark berry lips don't feel out of place either! By the by, this one of my most beloved lipsticks: Black Cherry by Revlon. Its by far the best drugstore lippy in the "wine red" family I've tried. It looks particularly awesome (and stays much longer) over a layer of black—all you have to do is line your lips with your black eye pencil and voila! I digress... Today, I went exploring with my little sister, my silver fox pseudo-grunge mini me, and I just had to get some photos in my new favorite hi-waist skinny jeans that I got whilst on base at the BX—I was surprised to find a pair like these! I’m definitely a hi-waist denim kind of gal.
